Cort Winsor Car Accident & Death: State police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday night near Edinboro.

At around 6:45 p.m., emergency responders were called to the 13100 block of Fry Road, where a car had collided with a tree, causing the tree to fall across the road. Tragically, 30-year-old Cort Winsor of Venango was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook.

A second victim, a 7-year-old child, was reportedly caught under the debris but sustained only moderate injuries.

Details regarding the cause of the accident have not yet been released.

Additionally, a serious car and motorcycle collision on Friday evening led to significant road closures on Route 7 between Route 37 and Route 55 in New Milford, Connecticut. The crash, which happened during peak hours, caused extended delays as investigators from the local accident reconstruction team were deployed to assess the scene.

The road closure left many motorists stranded for hours while authorities secured the area and gathered critical information. Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash before emergency personnel quickly arrived on the scene. Both the motorcycle and the car involved in the collision suffered extensive damage.

First responders acted swiftly, with paramedics stabilizing the motorcyclist, who was seriously injured, before transporting them to a nearby hospital. The driver of the car sustained minor injuries, though the full extent of injuries is still under investigation.
