Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Garrett temporarily served in the Alaska Anchorage Mission, before completing his mission in Mexico.

Garrett was deeply involved in his community and his church. He served as a temple ordinance worker at the Laie Hawaii Temple and was passionate about living a healthy lifestyle, including a fondness for eating salads. His adventurous spirit and positive outlook touched everyone he met.
