Ian Duchemin and Ryan Britagna Boat Accident: Officials have confirmed the recovery of the bodies of two men who went missing following a fatal boating accident in Connecticut on Labor Day.
The first body was discovered by officers from the state’s environmental conservation police on Friday, just after noon, about a quarter of a mile from the accident site at the mouth of the Connecticut River between Old Saybrook and Old Lyme, according to Environmental Conservation Police Capt. Keith Williams.
The two victims, identified by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) as 25-year-old Ian Duchemin of Oakdale, CT, and 24-year-old Ryan D. Britagna of Waterford, CT, were recovered from the Connecticut River/Long Island Sound area.
The State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death, as the investigation into the tragic incident continues.
