Max was a devoted husband to Maria Maffucci for 55 years, and together they raised three children: Anthony, Gina, and Lisa. His grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he delighted in supporting them at their sporting events and sharing his love for woodworking.
He was actively involved in his community as a member of the Wethersfield Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, and St. Paul’s Church, where he served in various roles. Max is survived by his wife, Maria Maffucci; his children, Anthony Maffucci (Laura) of Hartford, Gina Rossi (Michael) of Wethersfield, and Lisa Thompson (David) of West Hartford; his grandchildren, Sophia, Matteo, Olivia, and Lucas; his sister, Angela Romano of New Haven; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Giovanni and Teresa Maffucci, and his brother, Joseph Maffucci.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on September 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s Church in Wethersfield. The family will receive friends during calling hours on September 9, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel in Wethersfield.
