Russell Taylor’s career in post-secondary design education began in 1998, and he joined Simon Fraser University (SFU) in 2002 as a full-time University Lecturer. In 2013, he was honored with the Excellence in Teaching Award from SFU, and also received the 10th Anniversary Outstanding Faculty Award from the School of Interactive Arts + Technology (SIAT).
